Harvey L. Frutkin

Harvey L. Frutkin graduated from Ohio University (AB 1967) and the University of Michigan School of Law (JD 1971, magna cum laude). From 1972 through April of 2009, he was a member of the Cleveland, Ohio law firm of Cavitch, Familo, Durkin & Frutkin, specializing in corporate and business planning, taxation, and estate planning. Harvey’s positions in the firm included participation on the Board of Directors, and as President of the firm from 1992 until 2006. He was admitted to the United States Supreme Court in 2000.*

Harvey is an author, having presently in print Taxation of Executive Compensation: Planning and Practice (Lexis\Nexis 1983, updated semi-annually). He has also served as general editor of other Lexis\Nexis publications, including Rabkin & Johnson Current Legal Forms and OhioTransaction Guide, and has been a frequent contributor to professional publications. Harvey served as Adjunct Professor of Law in Federal Corporate Taxation, at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Cleveland, Ohio.

Harvey has been a frequent lecturer at the Cleveland Tax Institute and other tax and business panels, and served as General Chairman of the 30th Anniversary Commemorative Cleveland Tax Institute in 1986.

*Harvey Frutkin is admitted only the State of Ohio Bar and the United States Supreme Court. He is not a member of the Arizona Bar, and his practice is limited to Ohio and Federal matters.
